Meet the Speakers and Instructors

Chanda Miles DVM DAVDC
Dr. Chanda Miles received her Bachelor of Science degree from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO in 1999. In 2006 she graduated from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her 4th clinical year at Kansas State University. After graduation she practiced as a general practitioner in Salt Lake City, UT for 3 years. During this time she developed a strong interest in dentistry, which lead her to pursue further training in it. Her residency and surgical fellowship were completed in 2012 at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in Madison, WI. She became a diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College in 2013. Dr. Miles then ran the dentistry and oral surgery service in a large specialty hospital in Houston, TX. In January 2022, Dr. Miles opened Veterinary Dentistry Specialists, a specialty state of the art stand-alone dentistry and oral surgery practice.

Kris Bannon DVM DAVDC
Kris Bannon, DVM, FAVD, DAVDC received her veterinary medical degree from Texas A&M University in 1998. She worked in a small animal hospital in Santa Fe, NM for ten years before starting the first veterinary practice in New Mexico dedicated to the oral health needs of our companion animals.
In 2008, she was the first veterinarian in New Mexico to earn the title Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (FAVD)and the first Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (DAVDC) in NM in 2010.
She has held multiple leadership positions and serves on several committees. Dr. Bannon is very enthusiastic about dentistry, enjoys teaching quality dental care for general practitioners, and wants to share with everyone the positive effects that good dental health and oral hygiene can have on the quality of life for our beloved furry friends.

Maria Littles DVM DAVDC
Dr. Littles received her veterinary degree from Purdue University. She moved to New Mexico and practiced as a mixed animal veterinarian for several years before deciding to specialize in small animal veterinary dentistry. She completed a private practice residency with Dr. Kris Bannon at Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of New Mexico in 2021. She became a Board-Certified Veterinary Dentist™ and a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College in 2022 and continues to practice in New Mexico. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor in small animal dentistry at Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine.

Delores Craig DVM FAAVA CVA CVCH
Dr. Delores T. Craig graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia Veterinary College in 1983. She is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA), Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist (CVCH), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture (FAAVA). Dr. Craig became interested in acupuncture in 2004, was certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2006, and has taught acupuncture through the IVAS since 2008. In 2021, after thirty-eight years of practicing veterinary medicine, the last sixteen as an integrative veterinary practitioner, she retired from her private practice. However, she remains active in Integrative Veterinary Medicine as an instructor and lecturer for the International Veterinary Basic Course and as a presenter at various venues. She has presented at various venues, including the AVMA, Western Veterinary Conference, Oquendo Center, VMX, Southwest Veterinary Symposium, Pacific Northwest Conference, Midwest Veterinary Conference, El Paso Veterinary Medical Association, Webinar Vet, College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies, International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture, American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, and the Australian Veterinary Association. In 2024, Dr. Craig was honored to be selected as the Keynote Speaker for the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society’s 50th Anniversary.

Antu Radhakrishnan DVM DACVIM (SAIM)
Antu Radhakrishnan was born and raised in the Chicago area. He went The University of Chicago (BA Philosophy, 1995) where he met his wife the first week of school and played varsity soccer. He received his D.V.M. degree in 2002 from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, and continued post-graduate training with a rotating internship followed by a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Board-certification was achieved in 2006 with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. He and his wife started a specialty and emergency hospital in Lexington, KY in 2006. They sold the practice in 2018 and Dr. Radhakrishnan retired from clinical practice in 2022 for a faculty position as Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife have four adultish daughters and a number of animals! Veterinary areas of interest include minimally invasive procedures/endoscopy and all conditions within internal medicine (endocrine, GI, respiratory, infectious disease, etc) including subspecialties of oncology, neurology, and cardiology.

Jeffery Nichol DVM IAABC
Dr. Nichol was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. When he brought his 8 week old Brittany spaniel puppy for its first vaccination he met the kind and well-spoken Dr. Lyle Tuck. The clean, professional medical facility and the opportunities to own a practice and work with pets and people had him hooked.
Dr. Nichol is a residency trained veterinary behaviorist. He has lived and practiced in Albuquerque, NM since graduating from veterinary school. He is the married father of two adult sons and the grandfather of one fine little girl. He has a wonderful Border collie named Mick, who he trains in rally obedience, and a fuzzy white cat named Gaston.

Vikki Milne DVM
Dr. Victoria Milne is Chief Zoo Veterinarian at the El Paso Zoo, where she coordinates veterinary care and nutrition for more than 200 animal species, from invertebrates to megavertebrates. She has over 20 years of experience providing individualized veterinary care focused on animal well-being to the Zoo’s diverse creatures. She loves being part of the Zoo’s positive conservation impact on threatened species including the Mexican wolf, Baja peninsular pronghorn, and bolson tortoise. Beyond work she enjoys getting back to nature through gardening, birding, and exploring the world’s wild places.

Antonio Bowens DVM
Over the past 20 years, Dr. Antonio Bowens has been serving and passionately contributing to the human-animal bond by providing Veterinary Neurology & Neurosurgery Services; helping to diagnosis, manage and treat companion animals (dogs & cats) of various neurological diseases (involving the brain, spinal cord, and the peripheral nerves). Also, he mentors and teaches veterinary students.
He’s a husband, “girl-dad”, a Veterinary Neurologist & Neurosurgeon, and an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Neurology at the University of Arizona, College of Veterinary Medicine (UofA,CVM). Also, he served on the editorial advisory board of DVM 360 magazine. Recently, he finished his term serving as the chair of the Advisory Board on Veterinary Specialists (ABVS) for the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA).
Dr. Bowens graduated from Tuskegee University, College of Veterinary Medicine (TUCVM). After completing an academic small animal internship and then a specialty fellowship in Neurology & Neurosurgery, he successfully completed a Neurology & Neurosurgery residency at the Universität of Zürich (UZH) in Switzerland.
He has been happily married to his smart & beautiful wife (Dr. Priscilla Bowens) for 21years and we have two amazing daughters(Ariana & Gloria). Dr. Bowens enjoys golfing, cross-fit, spending time his my wife and watching their daughters compete in tennis and golf.

Priscilla Bowens DVM MPH JD
Dr. Bowens received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University. She received her Master of Public Health from the University of Florida and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
Currently, she is Assistant General Counsel at Helen of Troy where she supports several beauty brands such as Drybar, Revlon and Curlsmith. She also serves as Adjunct Associate Professor of Practice teaching veterinary students at the University of Arizona the art of contract negotiation. Additionally, she assists El Paso area veterinary hospitals as a relief veterinarian and serves as the president of the El Paso Veterinary Medical Association.

Matt Heinlein LVT CVPM MBA
Matt is a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) and Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) with more than 20 years of experience in the veterinary profession, and has been employed in just about every position except veterinarian throughout his career. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas Permian Basin and a Master of Business Administration from The University of South Carolina Aiken. His veterinary medical interests include ultrasound and echocardiography, local and regional analgesia, and wound care. His management philosophy revolves around the tenants of servant leadership, focusing on team engagement and empowerment. Matt is an El Paso, TX native, where he serves as Hospital Administrator at TLC Animal Hospital.
